SUMMARY:Keeping Education Human in the Age of AI
DESCRIPTION:A reflection on the Adream Foundation 2026 Public Forum Hong Kong\, M+ Museum\, 11 May 2026. That afternoon\, we sat in the audience and listened as our friends from the Adream Foundation traced the road they have walked for eighteen years across China — from one Dream Centre to many\, reaching all 31 provincial regions and supporting more than 3.1 million students and teachers. We left with something heavy on our minds. On one side\, the dizzying progress of our era — AI\, algorithms\, technological dividends arriving faster every year. On the other\, the corners we have not yet truly lit — in China\, there are still children for whom the chance to read and learn remains out of reach. Progress has never been evenly distributed. That\, in the end\, is why philanthropy exists. What we believe — they have builtFor Peak II Foundation\, the most weighted moment of the forum was seeing the very ideas we stand for taking real\, living shape in Adream’s work. We believe that change travels through human relationships. When one person is equipped with skills\, confidence\, and opportunity\, they become a force that lifts everyone around them. We call this the multiplier effect. Adream has carried this conviction further than almost any organisation we know: A Dream Centre equips one teacher\, one teacher lights up an entire classroom\, one classroom reshapes a rural community. This is what we mean by investing in people who help people — and an organisation in China has been doing exactly that\, across mountains and rivers\, for eighteen years. In the rush of AI\, they chose to slow down — on purpose What moved us most was their posture toward AI. While much of the world chases novelty and rushes to “embrace AI\,” Adream stood up and articulated three ethical principles to guide their work: One — Safe and controllable; human-centred above all. Two — AI assists\, but never replaces; the essence of education stays human. Three — Pragmatic and inclusive; never chasing technology for its own sake. Three plain sentences — but in this moment of history\, a rare clarity. They do not deny what AI can do. They simply draw a clean\, unmistakable line: let technology take the repetitive; let the heart of education remain with people. Locking algorithms out is not the answer. Worshipping them is not the answer either. The grown-up posture\, the one we hope to see more of in our sector\, is to let technology do what technology does best — so that teachers can give back what only they can give. “Compassionate” and “Pursuing Sincerity” — redefining what education is forLast year\, Adream refreshed their educational philosophy. When we heard it\, we almost wanted to stand up and applaud. “Compassionate” — to have love — is not a soft\, sentimental phrase. Love is a capacity to give. Their goal is to help every child cultivate three relationships: With the self — self-acceptance\, and a healthy inner life; With others — seeing other people\, learning to collaborate; With the world — perceiving the world around them\, and meeting it with gratitude. When a child can listen as well as they speak\, when they can be glad for themselves and equally glad for someone else\, when they can sit with their own thoughts — they carry\, into any current the world may throw at them\, the strength to keep growing as a human being. And “Pursuing Sincerity” — to seek truth — answers the scarcest skill of our age. This era does not lack information. What it lacks is the ability to discern what is true. Adream wants to teach children three things: To find what is essential inside an avalanche of information; To hold on to independent thinking when many voices clamour at once;To stand before any tool — including AI — as its maker\, not its follower. We sat with that for a long time. Because what we heard was not only a framework for children’s education — it was a framework for how all of us might remain fully human in the age of AI. A belief that grows heavier\, in the best way Peak II Foundation is rooted in Hong Kong\, but our concern has never been limited by geography. Dignity\, integrity\, and the kindness with which people treat one another are not local ideals — they are human ones. Every individual empowered becomes part of a wider ripple — toward a stronger Hong Kong\, a more equitable China\, and a more compassionate\, connected world. Eighteen years of Adream’s steady work have made this conviction heavier — in the best possible way. What they do is what we believe: in a time that risks letting technology scatter us\, they pull education back to what it has always been about — human-centred\, full of love\, and honest in the pursuit of truth. It is an honour to walk alongside such fellow travellers. Peak II Foundation will continue to anchor our work in this same belief — investing in people who help people\, so that the force of good can ripple outward\, through every pair of hands it empowers. — Peak II FoundationEmpower Education\, Elevate the Future

SUMMARY:A Heartwarming Moment of Intergenerational Connection- SAGE Madam Ho Sin Hang Home for the Elderly
