A Classroom Built for Older Learners
This April, in a community classroom on Tianshan Road in Shanghai, a group of senior residents sat with phones in hand, listening attentively as volunteers explained what AI is, how to recognise AI-driven scams, and how a well-written prompt can turn a few words into a photograph, a piece of music, or a personalised meal plan.
This is Digital Life — Stage Two, a curriculum launched by the Golden Dreamers programme of Adream Foundation and supported by Peak II Foundation. Across four sessions, more than forty older participants progressed from cautious curiosity to confident, hands-on use of AI tools.
For many of these learners, AI had been a distant word in the news. Now it lives inside their photo albums, in conversations with grandchildren, and in the quiet ease of daily life.
Four Sessions, One Clear Learning Journey
The curriculum was designed to unfold step by step — from understanding AI, to using it well, to letting it capture what matters most.
NO.1 First Encounter with AI (April 7) — Volunteers opened with the question “What is AI?”, walked participants through its development, and used real-life examples to teach AI-driven fraud prevention. They then explored Doubao together, getting comfortable with its interface and basic conversations.
NO.2 Working with AI (April 14) — The second session connected AI to daily routines: writing prompts to generate images and music, asking AI to critique photographs, planning healthy meals, suggesting seasonal outfits, even drafting smart meeting notes. Learners were introduced to the idea of “intelligent agents”.
NO.3 Holding the Moment (April 21) — A session devoted to photography: composition for portraits and landscapes, appreciation of strong images, hands-on retouching inside the phone’s native photo app. Phones in hand, participants began to capture the small beauties of everyday life in their own voice.
Beautifying Time · A Whole New Experience (April 28 — Closing Session) — Using Meitu’s AI eraser and AI image-expansion to refine landscape photos; portrait retouching for skin, lines, and proportion. The session closed with Jimeng AI — generating images, short videos, and digital avatars. From initial hesitation to producing finished works on their own, every small step revealed the seriousness and joy with which our learners showed up.
Why Peak II Foundation Supports This Work
Peak II Foundation stands on a single conviction: Empower Education, Elevate the Future. Education does not belong only to children. It belongs to every person willing to keep learning — including the elders our societies too often leave behind.
We also believe that change travels through human relationships. We call this The Multiplier Effect. In this programme, the multiplier was visible at every step:
- Peak II provided funding and trust;
- Adream Foundation designed the curriculum and the community network;
- Volunteers from East China University of Science and Technology’s School of Sociology delivered each session with care;
- More than forty elders gained the confidence to use AI in their daily lives;
- And they, in turn, carried those skills home — to families, to neighbours, to grandchildren.
- Change moves outward, ring by ring.
What we are funding is not a single classroom. It is a self-sustaining human network — the Golden Volunteer System — built from sociology students, community volunteers, and elder learners working side by side. This is what we mean when we say we invest in people who help people.
Redefining “Education” in the Age of AI
We are sometimes asked: why would a Hong Kong-based foundation support a digital-literacy programme for elders in Shanghai?
The answer is simple: education has no age limit, and human dignity has no border.
As AI reshapes daily life faster than any technology in living memory, the digital divide threatens to become a new form of inequality. Giving older adults the tools to use AI with confidence — to recognise risks, to express themselves, and to stay in conversation with younger generations — is itself an act of empowerment. It allows every life to continue with vibrancy, composure, and dignity.
This is also the spirit of Golden Dreamers: an all-age-friendly community where elders and children learn alongside one another. When elders pick up new tools, grandchildren find new things to talk about. When young volunteers step into a community classroom, they too learn how to listen, to wait, to walk alongside. Education, at its best, is always a two-way exchange.

數字人生｜當 AI 走進長者的日常
崇嶺基金會與上海真愛夢想公益基金會 ——《數字人生》二階課程圓滿收官

一場屬於長者的 AI 課堂
四月，上海天山路街道的社區教室裡，一群叔叔阿姨拿著手機，認真聽志願者講解什麼是 AI、如何識別 AI 詐騙、怎麼用提示詞讓 AI 為自己生成一張照片、一段音樂、一份健康餐單。
這是由上海真愛夢想公益基金會「金色夢想家」項目發起、崇嶺基金會（Peak II Foundation）支持的《數字人生》二階課程。四堂課，四十餘人次，每一位學員都在一次次動手實踐中，解鎖了屬於自己的「數字新技能」。
對許多長者而言，AI 曾是新聞裡遙遠的詞彙；如今，它是相冊裡修整好的風景照、是與孫輩聊天時的新話題、是日常生活裡多了一份從容的工具。
四堂課，一條清晰的學習路徑
課程設計循序漸進，從認識 AI、到善用 AI，再到用 AI 留住生活中的美好。
NO.1 初遇 AI（4月7日）——從「AI 是什麼」談起，志願者結合真實案例普及 AI 反詐騙知識，為大家築牢數字安全防線；隨後一起走進「豆包」的世界，熟悉介面、嘗試對話。
NO.2 玩轉 AI（4月14日）——把 AI 和日常緊密相連：用提示詞生成圖片與音樂、讓 AI 點評攝影作品、搭配健康飲食、給換季穿搭出主意，並初識「智能體」的用法。
NO.3 定格美好（4月21日）——學習人像與風景的構圖技巧，賞析優秀作品，玩轉手機相冊修圖功能。叔叔阿姨們把日常裡的小美好，用自己的方式「定格」下來。
美化時光・全新體驗（4月28日 收官）——運用「美圖秀秀」的 AI 消除筆與 AI 擴圖美化風景照；體驗「即夢 AI」，自己動手生成圖片、視頻、甚至數字人。從最初的些許手足無措，到獨立完成滿意的作品 —— 每一點進步，都是學員們認真與熱情的見證。
為什麼崇嶺基金會支持這個項目
崇嶺基金會的理念是「培力教育・提升未來」。我們相信教育不只屬於孩子，也屬於每一個願意持續學習、不被時代落下的長者。

在 AI 時代，重新定義「教育」
我們常被問：為什麼一家總部在香港的基金會，會支持上海一個面向長者的數字課程？
答案很簡單：教育的對象從來不分年齡，也不應分地域。
當 AI 工具以前所未有的速度改變生活，數字鴻溝可能成為新的不平等。讓長者也能自信地使用 AI、識別風險、表達自我、與年輕一代對話 —— 這本身就是一種「培力」。它讓每一段生命都能繼續精彩，自信、從容、有尊嚴。
這也呼應了金色夢想家「一老一小」全齡友好的理念：當長者學會新工具，孫輩有了新話題；當年輕志願者走進社區，他們也在學習如何傾聽與陪伴。教育，從來是雙向的。
