Father’s Day is about celebration. But for families living with physical and mental disabilities, a night out together — at a restaurant, with live music and laughter — can feel like a rare and precious thing.
On 8 June 2025, the Peak II Foundation was honoured to attend the Green Grass Notes charity dinner in Kowloon Bay, joining over 100 families with physical and mental disabilities for a Father’s Day celebration filled with music, art, and warmth.
An Evening of Celebration
The event, organised by Green Grass Notes and supported by District Councillors, local singers, and philanthropists from across the community, featured performances by Green Grass Notes members alongside a Painting Competition Award Ceremony — recognising the creative talents of participants and reminding everyone that art has no barriers.
For the families in attendance, this was not just a dinner. It was an evening where their children could perform and be applauded, where fathers could feel celebrated, and where the whole family could simply enjoy a night out without worry.
Why We Were There
Peak II Foundation’s Charities Executive Manager attended the dinner as part of our commitment to building connections across Hong Kong’s philanthropic community. We believe that lasting social impact is not built by any single organisation working alone — it requires an ecosystem of partners, supporters, and community groups who share resources, learn from each other, and show up for the same families in different ways.
Events like this remind us why that ecosystem matters. When District Councillors, local artists, charitable organisations, and families with disabilities gather around the same tables on a Sunday evening, something important happens: the distance between “those who help” and “those who are helped” disappears. Everyone is simply part of the same community, sharing a meal and celebrating together.
About Green Grass Notes
Green Grass Notes is a community organisation that brings people together through music, art, and charitable events — with a particular focus on supporting families with physical and mental disabilities.
At Peak II Foundation, we are grateful for organisations like Green Grass Notes that create joyful, inclusive spaces for families who deserve to celebrate just like everyone else. We look forward to continued collaboration and to supporting a philanthropic ecosystem where different stakeholders work together to make our community stronger.
