Patient Voices, Improvised Cello: The Musical Rounds Podcast Is Here

Earlier this year, we shared a note about Musical Rounds — a Stanford Medicine–affiliated programme that brings live, improvised music to patients and families navigating serious illness.

We’re delighted that their podcast, Patient Voices, Improvised Cello, is now out. Hosted by cofounder and cellist-physician Melanie Ambler, each episode is captured live in a single take at the hospital bedside — an unscripted patient story, underscored by cello improvised in the room, as it happens.

It is a rare thing to hear care rendered this honestly: no edits, no rehearsal, just presence. We hope you’ll listen, and share it with someone who might find comfort in it.
